We're looking for passionate folks to help fix the news. To apply, just email nick@broadsheet.tech. Here are a few of the roles we're looking for right now.
At Broadsheet, we're reimagining how everyone follows the news. As the 2020 election approaches, our national conversation has never been more important. Unfortunately, that vital discussion is fed with fake and sensational news stories that confuse, divide, and demoralize us.
We’re looking for a full stack engineer to help us build the newsfeed of the future – a place where everyone gets information they trust about the stories that matter most.
What you’ll do at Broadsheet:
Build innovative infrastructure that understands all of the nation’s news in an instant.
Work directly with the founders to design and build a first of its kind news app.
Create tools for journalists to help them do the best work of their lives.
You’ll love this job if...
You’re excited by the opportunity to build an entirely new product.
You want to work on a deeply meaningful problem. You could literally help save democracy.
We want to talk to you if...
You have built a React web app or native iOS app.
You’ve built and maintained a scalable production web service.
[Bonus points] You’ve built systems for search, recommendations, or natural language processing.
Broadsheet perks:
Join a startup as the first employee – with an equity stake to match – while still receiving salary and benefits (we’re already funded!).
Work with a strong team of ex-Google employees who built mobile search, self driving cars, and next generation augmented reality hardware.
Shorten your commute. Our office is in San Francisco just steps away from Montgomery Bart.
Who we are:
We believe that high quality, honest information is critical to democracy and an important part of everyone’s daily lives. Unfortunately, the way we get news today feels deeply broken. Our team is going to fix it.
We’re ex-Google employees building carefully crafted products in San Francisco. We are not alone. We’re backed by SignalFire and an army of Angel investors that raised rounds from Sequoia and built products used by billions of people. Together – and hopefully with you – we can help fix the news.
Broadsheet needs an experienced managing editor to build a team and cover the 2020 Presidential Campaign. As we approach the most important election of our lives, trust in media is at an all time low. Faith in news from social media feeds – where 7 in 10 Americans get updates – is an even more appalling 4%. We’re going to make a new home for trustworthy election coverage, and we need your help.
There are plenty of publishers and aggregators chasing clicks, page views, or time on site. We are not. Your mandate is simple: answer the questions that most matter to Broadsheet readers.
What you’ll do at Broadsheet:
Listen to our readers and set an editorial agenda based on what readers think are the most important questions of the 2020 campaign.
Own the final call on which stories do and don’t make it in front of Broadsheet’s readers.
Work directly with the CEO, designers, and engineers to design the reader experience and our editorial tooling.
You’ll love this job if...
You believe news is an intimate part of everyone’s daily lives and a vital pillar supporting humanity's most important institutions. You want to help a free press thrive.
You’re personally passionate about America’s political conversation. You want to make sure every voter has the information they need to make the right decision.
You want to figure out how the combination of human editing and advanced technology can help readers understand their world better than ever before.
We want to talk to you if...
You’ve recruited and run your own team, and you’re excited to do it again.
You’re passionate about building exciting, innovative news experiences. You love working in environments where you get to shape the core of the product design.
Have a proven track record of excellent editing.

Broadsheet needs a designer to build a new product and a meaningful brand from a napkin sketch to a household name. Never has the national conversation been more important than it is today. Yet, that vital discussion is fed with fake and sensational news stories that confuse, divide, and demoralize us. We’re going to fix it, and we need your help.
Today’s status quo clearly isn’t working. Only 4% of people trust the reporting they see in their social media feeds. Everyone needs a better news experience. At Broadsheet, you can build it.
What you’ll do at Broadsheet:
Own all of design – from the high level vision down to detailed pixel perfection.
Craft a totally new news product all the way from an idea to Facebook sized impact.
Define and develop a brand as iconic as Nike.
Iterate quickly with engineers to build and test prototypes until we have a product people love.

You have owned design for a product from conception to launch.
You believe brand and marketing matter and have experience shaping both.
